Falling in Love with Portland is so EASY!

I can’t imagine completing construction on a custom built 3,000 sq ft dream home, and then shortly after, decide to make a cross country move. Well, that’s just what Micheal and Wendy did. Two years ago they flew out from Virginia to the Pacific Northwest to visit colleges with their daughter Miranda. They rented an airbnb in Sellwood and immediately fell in love with the city. They couldn’t believe the proximity to the mountains and the beach. They loved that you could visit both in one day! They enjoyed walking the surrounding neighborhoods with their dog Wilbur, and discovering some of our fantastic local farm to table restaurants and grocery stores. They even became regulars at a local tea shop in no time.

Dreading their return flight home, they started talking about the idea of making a move to Portland and what that would look like. Without even having all the answers, they took a leap of faith and decided to list their brand new house and find a short term rental in Portland. Once in Portland, they hit the ground running with a REALTOR® they found online. The REALTOR® seemed bothered to be showing them homes, and they quickly realized they were not a top priority for that Agent.. When they stumbled upon a house of mine listed in Mt. Tabor, they gave me a call. We hit it off right away on the phone, and they wanted to meet in person. We set up a meeting to learn about their search and talk about expectations. We were honored that Wendy and Michael decided to work with our team! We are committed to our clients and the team is there for you for the whole journey no matter how long it takes. We will guide you every step of the way. We can’t promise it won’t have its challenges, but we will be right there with you, finding solutions together. That was the kind of spirit and service they were looking for.

With a new found confidence, we started shopping for homes together right away. We looked high and low and found a couple of great options and wrote very competitive offers, only to learn we came in second place. As heartbreaking as this was, I reassured them their house was out there and that they would love it! Sure enough, a house came up on the same street they wrote their very first offer on. We didn’t waste any time and wrote a very strong offer right away. We even got to meet the owner and chat with him while we were there viewing it. Turns out, the seller just moved around the corner and was hoping for some great neighbors. He accepted our offer and is delighted to have Wendy and Micheal joining the neighborhood. Finally, after a long search and lots of patience and dedication, Wendy and Micheal couldn’t be happier moving into a home they truly love. We couldn’t be more pleased either!
