Spectacular Sellwood

The most magical Porch in Portland has a new owner, and I just have to give her and her family a big high-5 for making it happen! Teamwork makes the dream work! This sounds so cheesy and cliche, but it also is so true. Lindsay, a broker at Inhabit, had been walking past this home, looking up and admiring this architectural gem of a porch for years. When the sign went up, she wasted no time getting inside. It was all she had dreamed, and sitting on that porch, finally looking down instead of up for the first time, it felt so right. This was her Sunset Magazine moment! But, she had a house to sell, that she had just finished renovating of all things. She reached out and started a dialog, so we would know she was looking into a solution to her conundrum. Just like a seasoned agent does, she kept in touch with us and was proactive in keeping the lines of communication open. Sure enough we got another offer to put in front of our seller. It was a great offer, but was missing the mark on the seller's timeline. Lindsay got really creative, and wrote up a super bold offer, with strong terms to help the seller feel confident, while also completely meeting their wishes around timing. This offer wasn't as "certain" as the other offer, but it was bold, and we trusted Lindsay when she said she was going to do everything possible to make the house (and that gem of a porch) her family's new home. Price is not everything. Cash is not always king. Some sellers are looking for more than a fast sale and big dollars. The sellers and I were happy to move forward knowing that the team in place had shared goals, a common finish line that we all were working toward. Lindsay, as the buyer and a realtor, showed that she walks the walk, trusted herself and landed in her dream home. Calling her on the closing day was a delight! A great realtor can work magic for you! Lindsay was brave and knocked it out of the park and I'm so happy for her.
